Lowest Death Rate Ever Recorded in Northern Ireland
Last year there were 14,400 deaths registered in Northern Ireland, a decrease of 3% from 2008. Last year also saw the lowest death rate in the history of Northern Ireland.

Significant reductions in Ireland’s Energy Costs?
Energy Minister Eamon Ryan today announced the publication of new data that shows significant reductions in Ireland’s electricity and gas prices.
Official data published by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, shows that in the year to June 2010:
In Electricity: Domestic prices fell 12.2% and were equal to the EU average For medium to large businesses, prices fell by 20% - 35%, compared with the EU average of 4% - the largest drop in the EU

Retail Sales Index October 2010
The results from the latest Retail Sales Index have just been released by the CSO. This is an annual dataset with figures released on a national level.
The volume of retail sales (i.e. excluding price effects) increased by 2.0% in October 2010 when compared with October 2009 and there was a monthly increase of 0.5%.
Northern Ireland Labour Force Survey - Religion, 2009
The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister published figures relating to religion analysis of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) on the 26th of November. The Labour Force Survey is a sample survey and similar exercises are conducted in all member states of the European Union.
In 2009 the religious composition of the population of working age in the LFS was found to be 51% Protestant and 49% Roman Catholic.
