Border Region Population estimated at 502,000

Border Region population now estimated at 502,000.

 

The CSO has estimated the national population to be 4,459,300 in April 2009, this represents an increase of 5.34% from the 2006 census figure.

 

The population of the Border Region was estimated to be 502,000 in April 2009. The '0-14' cohort represents 22%, '15-64' cohort represents 66% and the '65plus' cohort represents 12%.
