QHNS Labour Market Headline Indicators Q32011 - Interactive
The CSO have released headline labour market figures derived from the QHNS Q3 Survey results.
Overall the data reports an increase in unemployment of 15,800(5.3%) in the year to Q3, of this increase male unemployment increased by 4,700 (2.3%) and females by 11,100 (11.4%).
The annual reduction of 46,000 (-2.5%) in employment was comprised of a decrease of 26,100 or 2.6% in the number of men in employment, while the number of women in employment decreased by 19,800 or 2.3%.
The CSO reports that 56% of the decline in the size of the labour market is attributable to a decline in participation rate from 61.2% to 60.4% over the year representing 17,000.
