Live Register Figures for July 2012 - Data Mapped and Interactive Here
On a seasonally adjusted basis this month the Live Register has decreased by a figure of 2,700. This brings the LR total to 437,300. Using the AIRO interactive table below or the AIRO online mapping tool you can identify how this 437,300 is distributed spatially, among the age categories and sexes.
To summarise on a seasonally adjusted basis there was a decrease of 800 males and an increase of 1,600 females on the LR during the month of July. In unadjusted terms there was a decrease of 9,961 males (-2.1%) to a current total of 287,790 and an increase of 19 (+1.0%) females bringing the total to 172,533.
In terms of duration there was an increase in long term claimants on the LR with 4,160 males (+3.0%) and 5,864 (+11.1%) females becoming long term claimants. In July 56.5% of claimants on the LR were short term. Compared with July 2011 there was a decrease in short term claimants of -7.1% and an increase of +5.3% for long term claimants.
The office with the highest number of welfare claimants was Cork City with a total of 20,595 claimants. The greatest increase in the month was Achill with an increase of 6.5%. The greatest decrease was Killarney with a decrease of -4.47%.
