Mapping Module
The AIRO Mapping Modules are designed to provide support and assistance in understanding the dynamics of local areas, counties, regions and cross-border areas in Ireland. Modules are separated into 3 main sections: Census Mapping, AIRO Sectoral Themes and AIRO Research Projects
Census Mapping (click here)
The Census Mapping section provides users with detailed mapping tools focused on census information from both the Republic of Ireland (CSO) and Northern Ireland (NISRA). Data is generally mapped at the most detailed spatial scale; Electoral Divisions (EDs) and Small Areas (SAs) for the Republic of Ireland and Wards and Output Areas (OAs) for Northern Ireland. Mapping tools are available using InstantAtlas templates for the local level (Local Partnerships, Local Authorities) and regional level (Regional Authorities). National level tools are available through the latest ESRI FlexViewer platform.
Sectoral Themes (click here)
The AIRO Sectoral Theme mapping tools aim to provide access to a variety of non-census datasets such as agriculture, housing, unemployment, deprivation, transport, accessibility etc. Datasets have been collated through a variety of sources such as the CSO, NISRA, DECLG, NRA, DRD etc and are presented at a variety of spatial scales through both InstantAtlas and ESRI FlexViewer platforms.
AIRO Research Projects (click here)
The AIRO Research Projects mapping section is a dedicated section for research partners of NUIM, NIRSA and AIRO. Within this section users can view outputs from different AIRO research projects such as the Live Register Mapping Module for Southside Partnership, New Ways of Mapping Social Inclusion in Kilkenny, the State of the Nation’s Children Mapping tool or the Western Development Commission Census Mapping Module.
