Geographical Profiling

What is the Geographical Profiling Tool?

The Geographical Profiling tool allows registered user's to create a user defined request for statistical information for their area of interest. A wide variety of Census data is available - RoI Census data (2002, 2006) and Comparable Cross Border data (1991 and 2001/02).

As AIRO developes it is hoped that user will be able to select key public facility data to be included within a request. Data for facilities such as Schools, Hospitals, GP's, Transport facilities etc are currently being generated and will be incorporated in due course.

How does it work? 1. Use the mapping interface to zoom to your choosen location. 2. Click on the map to set the centroid of your profile. This will automatically load the coordinates into the selection window. 3. Select the size of your profile radius. 4. Enter the name of your Profile e.g "Maynooth 15km Profile - Education" 5. Select the Data variables you require in the profile. This can be either Cross-Border data or from the RoI only. 6. Once you have selected the variables click on "send" and AIRO administration will contact you.

Profile Output? The results of the Geographical Profile will be emailed to users once completed. The statistical profile will consist of a detailed .xls file containing figures and percentages for your selected Study Area.
